Scenelet Terms of Use

Last updated: July 22, 2026

These Terms are between you and Evgeny Ruban, the individual developer of Scenelet. By using Scenelet, you agree to these Terms.

1. Scenelet

Scenelet is a personal language-learning app that helps you capture, OCR, translate, save, and review phrase cards from real scenes, screenshots, photos, and everyday text.

2. Your content

You are responsible for the text, images, tags, translations, notes, and other content you add to Scenelet. You should only capture and store content that you have the right to use for your personal learning.

You keep ownership of your content. You grant Scenelet the limited permission needed to process, store, sync, back up, display, and transmit your content solely to provide the features you choose to use. If you use iCloud sync, your content may also be stored through Apple's CloudKit services for the purpose of syncing eligible app data across your Apple devices.

3. Accounts and guest use

Scenelet can be used as a guest. Apple or Google sign-in may be offered for backup, sync, and account recovery. You are responsible for keeping access to your device and sign-in provider secure.

Some sync features may require a signed-in Scenelet account, eligible paid access, an available iCloud account, and enough iCloud storage. Scenelet cannot guarantee that Apple iCloud services will always be available or that sync conflicts will never occur.

4. Acceptable use

  • Do not misuse Scenelet or try to disrupt its services.
  • Do not upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
  • Do not attempt to reverse engineer or bypass service limits.
  • Do not use Scenelet to violate another person's rights.

5. OCR and translation accuracy

OCR and translation can be incorrect. Scenelet is a learning tool, not a professional translation, legal, medical, financial, or safety service. You should review and edit results before saving or relying on them.

6. Third-party services

Scenelet may use third-party providers for authentication, hosting, OCR, translation, crash reporting, analytics, email delivery, iCloud/CloudKit sync, purchase validation, and distribution through the App Store. Your use of those providers may also be subject to their own terms and policies.

7. App Store terms

If you download Scenelet from Apple's App Store, Apple's applicable App Store terms and the Apple standard licensed application end user license agreement may also apply, unless Scenelet provides separate terms that validly replace them.

8. Paid features and in-app purchases

Scenelet may offer paid subscriptions and lifetime access through Apple's in-app purchase system. Available products, prices, billing period, renewal terms, and included features are shown in the app before purchase.

Auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in your Apple account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple handles billing, cancellation, and refunds under App Store rules. Scenelet does not receive your full payment card details.

Some paid features, limits, product names, or product availability may change over time. If a feature is marked as planned, in progress, or unavailable in the app, it is not part of the currently delivered paid functionality until released.

Free and paid tiers may include different limits for active saved phrases, cloud OCR or translation usage, Smart Review, iCloud sync, and other features shown in the app. Existing local content may remain viewable even if a limit prevents new processing, saving, or syncing.

9. Account deletion

If you created or connected a remote account, Scenelet provides an account deletion flow in the app. Deletion removes or anonymizes associated personal data unless limited retention is required for security, operational, abuse-prevention, or legal reasons.

10. Availability and changes

Scenelet may change, pause, or discontinue features over time. We try to keep the app useful and reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

11. Notifications

Scenelet may offer optional local learning reminders, draft reminders, batch-completion notices, and limited service notifications for account, security, backup, or sync conditions. You control notification permission through iOS and can change or disable learning reminders in Scenelet settings. Learning reminders are not emergency, safety, legal, medical, or time-critical alerts.

Notification delivery and timing depend on your device, iOS settings, Focus modes, Notification Summary, connectivity for remote service notifications, time zone, and Apple services. Scenelet does not guarantee that a notification will be delivered or displayed at an exact time. You remain responsible for opening the app when you want to review current information.

12. Email communications

Scenelet may offer optional welcome and learning-guidance email for signed-in accounts. Delivery is frequency-limited and based on the next incomplete product step rather than a daily mailing schedule. You can withdraw optional email preferences in the app or through the confirmation-based unsubscribe page.

Transactional account or security messages, if introduced, may be handled separately when reasonably necessary to provide or protect your account. Email delivery, filtering, and timing depend on your mail provider and are not guaranteed.

13. Disclaimer

Scenelet is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
